Our Missions

ICS serves its neighbors worldwide!

Enoneontes – W. Timor

Since 2005 ICS has supported a mission project begun by former pastor Ross Robson in the small village of Enoneontes, W. Timor. While serving a church in Bali, Ross visited Enoneontes and discovered a small village with great needs. At his initiative, local men have been trained to construct cisterns in order to capture fresh rainwater. These men have now in turn been hired by other villages to build cisterns. In addition, the project has received support from several sources resulting in pipe being laid to bring fresh water to the village. Families have been provided with extra rice to supplement their meager diets and a program to provide chickens to families has also been put into place. ICS is a proud supporter of this mission project and rejoices that Enoneontes has recently been able to hire a Pastor thanks to support from its mission partners.

Advocate Voices for Orphans

In 2006, Fred and Reneea Ross found their way to ICS and what a blessing they have been! Fred is a lawyer but several years ago the Lord laid on the hearts of Fred and Reneea to become voices for the voiceless children languishing in orphanages in Romania. They founded an NGO, Advocate Voices for Orphans, and first came to Strasbourg seeking pathways to the ears of key players in the Council of Europe and the European Parliament. Always with God’s call in mind, Fred has now passed the British Bar exam, believing that God will use that extra knowledge to enable him to be a stronger and more effective voice for orphans. Last year (2008), Fred was invited to re-write the Family Code for Romania, a task which he has just completed with a team of colleagues…Ever eager to become the best possible Advocate Voice, he is also pursuing a Master’s degree in Children’s Rights which has him returning to Switzerland regularly for courses. ICS supports the ministry of Advocate Voices for Orphans with prayer and modest monetary gifts. To read more about Fred and Reneea’s work , visit: www.advocatevoices.com.

Food Bank

ICS encourages members to bring non-perishable food items to our communion service one Sunday per month. Initially, our plan was to donate these items to the local Strasbourg “Banque Alimentaire”. However, we find that our own members often have great needs and thus our donations often stay closer to home.

Encouraging Gifts

ICS has been blessed with many musical gifts. Members of the congregation, as well as students at the local conservatory, find ICS eager to showcase their talents. We happily provide an opportunity for students to play before an audience, and in return, we have awesome music for our worship. We thank God for these young people who give so generously of their gifts to enhance our worship….Anyone with a musical gift they are willing to share is encouraged to contact the pastor.

New opportunities

Our new partnership with the Eglise du Bouclier is already opening new doors of opportunity for us to be involved in local missions. We eagerly await these new partnership opportunities to better serve our neighbors right here in Strasbourg.
